Landlord Gas Safety Certificate
Why do I need a Landlords Gas Safety Certificate?
- Annual Landlord Gas Safety Checks
- When Selling Your Property
- Always use a Gas Safe Registered Engineer
Gas Safe Certification work for landlords can be undertaken in Cheltenham, Gloucester, The Cotswolds, Stroud and Tewkesbury.
As a landlord, you are responsible for the safety of your tenants. All installation, maintenance and safety checks need to be carried out every 12 months on all Gas Appliances by a Gas Safe Engineer, even if the property is rented short term or less than a year you are still required to have a Gas Safety Certificate.
A record of the Gas Safety Certificated must be kept for at least 2 years and given to the tenant within 28 days of the checks being carried out, also you must make your tenants aware of what to do in case of emergency and show them where to turn off the mains gas supply at the meter.
